Previous Educational Background:
Fiona worked in healthcare for many years, in the NHS and academic research in England, Wales and Scotland. She holds Post Graduate qualifications in Public Health and Nursing with Distinction from the University of Wales. While a research fellow and specialist nurse at University of Glasgow Fiona published research in the BMJ Group Heart and Nursing periodicals and textbooks as well as gaining a NHS Golden Helix Award for her work introducing new services for cardiac patients within Greater Glasgow. She was also the lead specialist nurse on a Scottish Office Demonstration Project Team to develop electronic record prototypes. Throughout this time she balanced work while pursuing skills and qualifications in embroidery, jewelry design & silversmithing and advanced millinery in which she gained distinction at Glasgow Clyde College, before going on to develop a career as a couture milliner.
More recently she spent two years at London Fine Art School Atelier studying drawing, oil painting from life to hone her observational skills to pursue a life-long ambition to develop her interest in people, society and scientific enquiry into a fine art practice.
